Many have advanced features like mapping, which helps them navigate your home and recall furniture positioning. They can also boost suction power to clear dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 from iRobot is a robot vacuum for entry-level use that performs well on both carpets with low pile and bare floors. It has good suction however it has trouble with larger debris like sand or grains of rice. It also does a good job at cleaning pet hair, but it's not immune to tangling like top Roomba models like the j7 or I6.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has three buttons on the top cover.  Clean, which initiates a cleaning session, 'Dock,' which places it in its charging station and  the 'Spot' button, which triggers the targeted cleaning. It can be controlled via an app on your smartphone that lets you to schedule cycles, stop and start them and adjust settings. It is also possible to pair the device to smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant to control it via voice.

This vacuum is a little slower than other models, but it's still able to reach the majority of crevices and corners. It has a huge dust bin that is ideal to reduce the frequency at which you must empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which allows you to program the robot to stay out of certain areas or to stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from getting stuck.

While it's not the best model for its price however, it's superior to many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694 and it can clean both carpets with low pile as well as bare. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a cleaner route. It is also more comfortable to use and has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, is less expensive to own over its lifetime and charges more quickly than the 694.

You may also want to consider other models in the iRobot range, such as the v7 or the 981. They're more expensive, however they provide significant improvements over the 694 in terms of performance on both low- and bare floors, follow an efficient cleaning path and come with a larger dirt compartment, are more efficient to charge, move more easily, and are much easier to connect with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a great job on carpets with a low pile and hard floors. Its combination brush reaches the edges and corners and automatically increases suction as soon as it detects carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt on mid-pile carpet. The IQ has a small footprint and a self-emptying function. If you want to change the floor's levels or define zones that aren't allowed, you'll have to manually reset the map.

The IQ's app has some advanced mapping and automation features however it doesn't have no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing system of the app allows for superior maneuverability and the high-pile feature of its carpet cleaning mode is effective however it can be caught in rug tassels.

In our tests, we observed that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to remove the majority of hair on floors that were not bare, and a fair amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less effective with shag carpets. It struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of chairs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors with no flooring however it soon recovered speed and performed better than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin and lasts longer on charge and is more capable of moving itself around obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can tackle sticky messes. The iRobot, however, is better constructed and has fewer parts that need maintenance or replacement, incurs less ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion application.  best robot vacuum  can continue cleaning from where it left off even if its battery runs out before it's finished. The iRobot is also controlled by voice commands, which is a big plus for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum available, but it does offer great cleaning power for an affordable price. It's designed for those who don't require a complex mapping system or app to control the device. The robot can run for up to an hour and includes the remote, a cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that resembles the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was excellent at picking up larger debris and fine dust on hard floors. It struggled to deep clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. The device is capable of bumping into furniture and people along its course. However, it is able detect obstacles using sensors. When it comes across them, it stops and lets out an alarm so that you can manually steer it through the obstacle before getting back to work.

Another great aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the type of floor and level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you'd like it to go.

Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

You can also opt for Edge Cleaning that limits the time spent in each location to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling pattern by cleaning edges and corners.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a fantastic mid-range vacuum cleaner that excels on carpet. Its performance on bare floors is also exceptional. It is able to remove small particles like rice effortlessly, and it doesn't lose suction power even when its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens and keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you don't have to buy additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not quite as powerful as other models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and fighting staining. Its two front cameras deliver live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it has one of the top obstacles-avoiding systems we've seen. It also comes with a huge dustbin, a long running time and a quick and smooth clean-up.

In contrast to other robots, unlike most other robots, Complete C1 can switch between a standard powerhead and a turbo head to suit different types of floors. The turbo head is great for low-pile and high-pile carpeting, while the standard powerhead works well on floors that are unfinished and light rug. It also has an automatic height adjustment system which lets it easily adapt to different kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

This model comes with a SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors and carpeting of medium-pile. The powerhead can be easily moved around and reach difficult spots. It has five different surface adjustments as well as a switch that stops the brushroll to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll as well as an UtraClean mode that moves across the same area three times to ensure the most thorough cleaning, and a self-emptying dustbin which can be filled with the push of the button. The sound level of this model is higher than other models. However its powerful motor with 1,200 watts of power and robust construction are worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to spend more, the Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-around canister robot vacuum that is more effective on carpet than the Classic C1. It performs better on all types of floors and is more solidly constructed and comes with an HEPA filter.
